You're both beating upwind on opposite tacks, converging fast — who gives way?
The same one rule decides it: Rule 10. On opposite tacks the port-tack boat keeps clear of the starboard-tack boat — it doesn't matter who's ahead, who's bigger, or who got there first. The port boat ducks the starboard boat's transom and sails on. No collision, no protest, no penalty. (RRS 10.)
