I passed the mark on the wrong side — what do I have to do to put it right?
Sail a full lap round the mark so it ends up on the required side. The definition Sail the Course decides this with the string test: a string laid along your track and pulled taut must pass each mark on the required side. A wrong-side pass and a swing back out straighten out to nothing when you pull the string tight — a lap round the mark does not, because the taut string hooks it. Rule 28.2 lets you correct the error any time before you finish.
