You are on port. Yellow, ahead of you, tacks onto starboard in front of you and comes out of the tack slowly. You have to bear away behind her and you protest. Is your protest upheld?

Dismissed. A port-tack boat keeps clear of a starboard-tack boat (Rule 10), and while Yellow is tacking she must keep clear (Rule 13). Once she is on a close-hauled course she has right of way, but she only has to give you room to keep clear at first (Rule 15). A boat on a close-hauled course has finished tacking whatever her speed (World Sailing Case 17), so Yellow broke no rule and Blue kept clear.
